Duties

Mahomet-Seymour CUSD #3 is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to support the safe, efficient operation of district facilities. The successful candidate will perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure school buildings and grounds are well-maintained and conducive to student learning.  This is a full-time, 12-month position.
 

Essential Functions:

1. Grounds Management – Maintain and repair school grounds, including mowing, trimming, snow plowing, field lining, and sidewalk clearing across District campuses.
2. Preventative Maintenance – Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including semi-annual HVAC filter replacement, maintenance of grounds equipment, flushing of on-demand water heaters, and facility equipment upkeep.
3. Minor Repairs – Electrical and plumbing repairs within the scope of District maintenance operations.
4. Operational Support– Assist in supervision, evaluation, and training of custodians and maintenance/grounds staff.  Assist the Director of Facilities with assigned duties to enhance the department's efficiency and responsiveness.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous maintenance experience in a school or commercial setting preferred.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance practices.
• Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment safely.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in various indoor and outdoor conditions.

Salary/Benefits

The starting salary for this position $52,000 annually.  A summary of our 2026 Employee Benefits is attached.
