Instructional/ Social Emotional Learning Coach

Duties

  1. Keep apprised of current rules and regulations as well as high-leverage practices in the field of special education.
  2. Complete member district requests for CPI training, functional curriculum consultations and Autism Assistance as assigned.
  3. Collaborate with Schramm and Rogers Academy Program Coordinators to provide Teacher Institutes and SIP Trainings.
  4. Implement and model the use of trauma-responsive practices throughout cooperative programs.
  5. Model appropriate academic instruction and social emotional interventions for staff.
  6. Create materials to provide evidence-based curriculum and social emotional supports that align with academic and social emotional programming.
  7. Collaborate with individual teachers, groups of teachers, and/or the entire staff through training, modeling and meeting facilitation, on issues such as curriculum, crisis intervention, childhood trauma, and the development and implementation of social emotional interventions.
  8. Provide direct support during times of escalated behaviors and/or crisis situation and coordinate team support.
  9. Facilitate discussions resulting in the collaborative, reflective, accountable, self-evaluative practices that support educational processes of all students and teachers.
  10. Work cooperatively and effectively with colleagues, including the ability to create and nurture a professional community of adult learners.
  11. Support staff in using data to improve instruction on all levels.
  12. Assist teachers with planning and pacing of lessons, the development of differentiated lessons, and the selection of best practices to meet the needs of their students.
  13. Informally observe (non-evaluative) lessons and provide feedback for a teacher’s professional growth and students’ success.
  14. Meet Code of Ethics for Illinois Educators as established by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).
  15. Accept the responsibility of punctuality - arriving and leaving work at the proper designated time.
  16. Meet attendance standards as designated by Association guidelines.
  17. Respect the confidentiality of students and staff.
  18. Perform miscellaneous, general, and specific duties as assigned.

Qualifications

CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS A MASTERS DEGREE AND ISBE PEL WITH LBS1. DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL EDUCATION ENDORSEMENT IS PREFERRED

Salary/Benefits

SALARY IS COMMENSURATE WITH EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE BUT NO LESS THAN $58,000 (INCLUDING TRS) FOR 185 DAYS
