Duties

In addition to the responsibilities and the duties of the classroom teacher (counselor, or media director), a Physical Education Teacher is responsible for the following:
- Develops lesson plans and organizes class time so that preparation, instruction, work, and clean-up activities can be accomplished within the allotted time.
- Guides pupils in selection of appropriate elective activities.
- Recommends purchase of and /or orders necessary equipment,supplies, and uniforms as appropriate.
- Oversees the safety and security conditions of the facility or area in which assigned activity is conducted at all times that students are present.
- Responsible for proper student conduct in all activities.
- Instructs students in safety procedures and in the safe use and care of equipment for each activity.
- Maintains control of storage and use of school-owned property. Mike minor adjustments and requests repairs to equipment as required.
- Establishes and maintains standards of pupil conduct needed to provide an orderly, safe, and productive environment in an activity-type classroom.
- All other reasonable duties as assigned by the Board of Education, Superintendent or Building Principal (s).
- Displays professional standards and promotes a positive school image with actions and words.
Qualifications
Valid Illinois Professional Educators License appropriate to the position
Such additional qualifications as the governing authorities may find
appropriate and acceptable.
Salary/Benefits
SALARY: Per the salary schedule outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CUSD#1 Board of Education and the South Scott Federation of Teachers, available at winchesterschools.net>district>contracts>teacher contract
