Duties
Virginia CUSD 64 is seeking an Athletic Director for the 2026–27 school year. This position provides leadership and coordination for all athletic and co-curricular programs for students in grades 5–12. Working closely with coaches, sponsors, and administrators, the Athletic Director ensures a safe, organized, and competitive environment that promotes student growth, sportsmanship, and school pride.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, and is committed to supporting student-athletes’ academic and personal success. Candidates should hold a valid Illinois teaching certificate and have experience or coursework in athletic, physical education, or co-curricular program administration.
Virginia Jr-Sr High School participates in a cooperative sports agreement with Triopia and Meredosia School Districts, requiring collaboration and coordination across partner schools.
As Athletic Director, this position ensures:

Compliance with IESA/IHSA rules and expectations.

Consistent supervision in partnership with the administrative team of athletic contests and programs.

Timely completion of eligibility reporting, coaching evaluations, and required documentation.

Annual training and certification compliance for all coaches.

Strong partnerships with officials, booster organizations, and community stakeholders.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or have equivalent experience in athletic administration, education, or leadership. Experience in organizing and supervising athletic or co-curricular programs is preferred.
Salary/Benefits
This is a stipend position with compensation set at $5,279.15 for the 2026–27 school year.
