Duties
Wood Dale School District 7 is seeking an engaging and culturally responsive Dual Language Social Studies Teacher to serve students in grades 6–8. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality instruction in both English and Spanish, support biliteracy development, and foster critical thinking through the study of history, civics, and social sciences. This position supports the district's commitment to multilingualism, equity, and high levels of learning for all students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver standards-based Social Studies instruction in Spanish as part of the Dual Language program
- Promote biliteracy, bilingualism, and cross-cultural competence
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Integrate reading, writing, and academic language development within Social Studies content
- Use data to monitor student progress and inform instruction
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that values students' cultural and linguistic backgrounds
- Knowledge of best practices in dual language instruction and second language acquisition
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, bilingual/ESL staff, and support personnel
- Communicate effectively with families in English and Spanish
- Participate in professional learning communities and ongoing professional development

Salary: Pay from $52,300 per year depending on experience
