Duties
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the
knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. In addition to the requirements listed below, regular
attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Establishes and fosters a professional learning community.
- Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives and parameters found in the Board’s strategic plan.
- Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- The primary responsibility of the building principal is to assume a leadership role in the improvement of instruction, initiatives for improving student achievement, curriculum delivery, student assessment and staff development.
- Assumes major responsibilities for effectively implementing curriculum policies formulated by the Board and the administrative regulations established by the Superintendent.
- Completes all District, State and Federal reports in accordance with procedures and timelines established by the District.
- Facilitates participation with professional development programs for certified and non-certified staff members to enhance their competencies.
- Communicates the school’s goals, accomplishments, practices, and policies to parents, students and the community.
- Facilitates the school improvement planning process to enhance all curricular and co-curricular programs.
- Secures healthy, safe, and efficient operation and maintenance of the school campus.
- Evaluates all staff members in accordance with Illinois School Code, District procedures and timelines.
- Provides supervisory assistance in such areas as instructional delivery, curriculum delivery, and special education and support services to enhance student achievement.
- Prepares, administers, and monitors the school budgets.
- Assumes the responsibility for the recommending of personnel for the Jr/Sr high school building, in cooperation with the Superintendent.
- Interprets the work of the school to the community by developing lines of communication with parents and professional staff regarding the school’s goals, accomplishments, practices and policies and by encouraging community involvement in the plans and programs of the school.
- Communicates with the Bronco Boosters, coaches, athletic directors, student-athletes, parents and officials as needed to drive a successful K-12 athletic program. Evaluates athletic programs and coaches and recommends them to the superintendent.
- Supervises athletic events, coordinates athletic camps for student-athletes in grades K-12, and maintains eligibility records and sports physicals as required for extracurricular play. The athletic director agrees to be a role model for students and staff and to comply with all rules set forth by the IHSA including attending athletic director meetings for the NUIC conference.
Salary/Benefits
Start date is July 1, 2026 with a salary range between $85,000-$110,000 based on administrative experience (210 day contract with paid sick and personal time, district paid TRS and insurance).

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: Administers instructional programs and supervises all activities and services in a Jr/Sr High School building to provide maximum educational and extracurricular opportunities for all pupils.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Certified and non-certified Jr/Sr High School building staff.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Job requires substantial knowledge and skills relating to the duties and responsibilities identified
above; also the ability to work in, and manage, an organization with a diverse client population.
A growth mindset is needed along with the ability to lead initiatives in course offerings to include dual credit, AP coursework, and CareerTec along with a strong skill set of current technology.
