Duties
Sullivan Elementary School is seeking a passionate, student-centered Elementary Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. The successful candidate will provide individualized instruction, collaborate with general education staff, and implement evidence-based practices to ensure all students have access to meaningful educational opportunities.
- Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students with disabilities. - Develop, implement and monitor Individual Education Programs (IEPs) - Conduct progress monitoring and data collection to evaluate student growth - Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs - Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, paraprofessionals and administrators - Communicate transparently and regularly with parents/guardians regarding programming and student progress - Participate actively in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings and problem-solving teams. - Implement and support Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) - Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with IDEA - Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, accommodations and technology supports for student learning - Support a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field. Valid State Teaching License (PEL) Special Education Endorsement (LBS1 or higher)
