Job Title: Special Education Teacher
Position Overview
DePue School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will create an inclusive learning environment, develop individualized education plans (IEPs), and collaborate with staff and families to ensure students achieve their academic and personal goals.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students.

Provide direct instruction tailored to students with varying disabilities and learning needs.

Adapt curriculum, assignments, and teaching strategies to support student success.

Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to promote inclusive practices.

Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.

Conduct assessments and use data to guide instruction and interventions.

Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs.

Support positive behavior interventions and classroom management strategies.

Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.

Valid State Teaching License with Special Education endorsement.

Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and special education compliance requirements.

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Experience working with students with disabilities preferred.

Qualifications
The qualified candidate must have an IL Professional Educator License with LBS1 endorsement.
