Anticipated HS Physical Education for 2026-2027

Duties

We are seeking a dynamic, student-centered High School Physical Education Teacher who is passionate about promoting lifelong fitness, wellness, and character development.This position includes supervision and monitoring of the male locker room. Instruction facilities include two full gymnasium spaces and a new weight room/training facility.

The ideal candidate will design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned physical education lessons while fostering a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment. Multiple class periods of co-teaching are included in this instructional assignment.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Applicants must have a Bachelor's Degree and proper Illinois licensure (Secondary PEL) with appropriate endorsements. 
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to attain).

  • Strong knowledge of strength training principles, athletic conditioning, and injury prevention.

  • Ability to supervise and manage locker room environments effectively.

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

Salary/Benefits

Salary & benefits will be based upon years of experience and the negotiated collective bargaining agreement.  Be advised, a new collective bargaining agreement to begin the 2026-2027 school year is currently in negotiation between Mt. Pulaski CUSD23 and the Mount Pulaski Education Association. Mt. Pulaski CUSD23 will honor all years of applicable experience up to 30 years.
