Duties

Cerro Gordo Jr/Sr High School is seeking a passionate and student-centered High School Science Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will engage students in meaningful exploration of  Science while fostering critical thinking and real-world connections. This position includes teaching a variety of courses, such as Biology and Earth Science.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science related field.

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with the appropriate High School Social Science endorsement(s), or the ability to obtain them.

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Commitment to fostering student engagement, academic achievement, and responsible citizenship.

Salary/Benefits

Minimum starting salary with pension benefits is $46,791.
