Junior High Interventionist APPLY ONLINE

Duties

Duties include but are not limited to tasks related to the following:

Develop and implement individualized academic interventions for students struggling
with coursework or academic performance.
Work with teachers to identify at-risk students and develop strategies to improve their
engagement and success in the classroom.
Monitor student progress regularly and adjust interventions as necessary to help
students meet their academic goals.
Conduct NWEA testing for grades 6-8 and assist with any State testing.
Provide targeted small-group and one-on-one tutoring sessions in areas where students
need the most support (e.g., reading, math, study skills).
Collaborate with special education staff, school counselors, and administrators to ensure
the academic needs of all students are met.
Provide consistent and proactive support to students in managing emotional responses,
decision-making, and social interactions.
Work closely with teachers, counselors, administrators, and other staff members to
address students' academic and behavioral needs.
Keep up to date with best practices in academic interventions, behavioral strategies, and
social-emotional learning.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, interventions, and
outcomes.
Prepare reports for school leadership, parents, and outside agencies as needed.

Qualifications

Must have Professional Educator License from Illinois State Board of Education.
Experience working with junior high school students, particularly in academic and
behavioral interventions, counseling, or social work.
Strong knowledge of academic intervention strategies, positive behavioral interventions,
and social-emotional learning practices.
Ability to create individualized plans for students and assess their progress effectively.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, self-starter.
Preference will be given to those with familiarity with NWEA MAP testing, IXLL and State
testing.

Salary/Benefits

Salary Schedule $43,671-81,636.
Board Paid Health Insurance $520 per month.
12 Sick Days and 2 Personal Days.
Tuition Reimbursement - $250 per semester hour.

Additional Notes

Neoga is a small agricultural community located on I-57 in between Effingham and
Mattoon. Our location on the Interstate gives easy access to Chicago, Indianapolis, and
St. Louis. Neoga is home to Lake Mattoon located about 2 miles from town. Neoga also
has two medical clinics (Sarah Bush and Springfield Clinic), and Strong Beginnings Early
Learning Center.

The Neoga School District has about 500 students, two Principals, and a Dean of
Students/Athletic Director. We total about 50 certified staff and 30 support staff.
Neoga CUSD #3 welcomes new staff with mentoring, supportive administration, and
opportunities to continue educational advancement. Coaching and extra-curricular
positions may be available for qualified candidates.
