Duties

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in ELA and Social Studies
  • Foster strong reading, writing, research, and discussion skills
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners
  • Differentiate instruction to meet a wide range of academic abilities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student achievement and school initiatives
  • Maintain clear communication with families and community stakeholders
  • Utilize formative and summative assessments to guide instruction
  • Integrate technology and real-world learning experiences
  • Support school-wide initiatives and extracurricular opportunities as needed

Qualifications

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Endorsements in English Language Arts and/or Social Studies
  • SPED endorsement preferred
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Commitment to collaboration and professional growth
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues

Position Overview

We are seeking a passionate and student-centered ELA & Social Studies Teacher to join our 6-8th grade team. The ideal candidate is a strong collaborator who is flexible, open-minded, and committed to meeting the diverse needs of learners. A candidate with a Special Education (SPED) endorsement is strongly encouraged to apply.

This position includes teaching middle school English Language Arts and Social Studies courses, fostering literacy, writing, critical thinking, civic understanding, and meaningful connections to the world beyond the classroom.
