Duties
Responsibilities
The principal is responsible for the overall operation and management of the school, with key responsibilities including:
? Spiritual & Mission Leadership
? Foster a culture that promotes and lives out the Catholic faith and moral teachings.
? Support the spiritual development of students, faculty, and staff.
? Collaborate with local pastors and diocesan leadership to strengthen Catholic identity.
? Strategic & Operational Leadership
? Develop and implement strategic initiatives that advance the school’s mission, vision, and long-term growth.
? Ensure strong administrative oversight of both the Advancement and Business offices.
? Manage and supervise extracurricular programming and facilities oversight.
? Collaborate with school leadership on financial management, including budgeting and allocation of resources to support school priorities.
? Hire and oversee all support staff
? Community & Stakeholder Engagement
? Cultivate positive, mission-centered relationships with students, families, alumni, parish communities, and local stakeholders.
? Promote transparency, communication, and a spirit of collaboration.
? Serve as a visible and engaged presence at school events and within the larger community.
? Academic & Instructional Leadership
? Oversee curriculum development, instructional practices, assessment, and master schedule.
? Promote academic excellence rooted in best practices and current educational research.
? Mentor and support faculty, encourage professional growth and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
? Practicing Catholic in good standing with a strong commitment to Catholic education and the mission of Mater Dei Catholic High School.
? Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field.
? Illinois Administrative License required.
? Experience in secondary education, including teaching and/or administration, preferred.
? Strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
? Experience with school management, budget oversight, and strategic planning is beneficial.
? A collaborative leadership style with the ability to inspire and support faculty, staff, and students.
Salary/Benefits
? Starting Salary Range: $95,000-$110,000 (Final salary based on experience, skills, & education)
