Duties
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilities & Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance, custodial, and grounds staff.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.
- Oversee daily work orders and emergency repair responses.
- Maintain facility condition assessments and asset inventories.
- Ensure proper building security systems and access controls.
- Oversee and maintain all district alarm systems, including fire alarms, intrusion alarms, and security monitoring systems; coordinate with vendors as needed.
Life Safety & Regulatory Compliance (Illinois-Specific)
- Ensure compliance with the Illinois School Code (105 ILCS 5).
- Coordinate ISBE Health/Life Safety inspections.
- Maintain and update the district’s 10-Year Health/Life Safety Survey.
- Ensure compliance with:
- Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) regulations
- Fire Marshal inspections
- OSHA standards
- ADA accessibility requirements
- EPA and environmental regulations
- Oversee asbestos management plans and AHERA compliance.
- Maintain radon testing and indoor air quality documentation.
Capital Planning & Construction Support
- Assist in the development of long-range facility master plans.
- Coordinate capital improvement projects and facility renovations.
- Serve as liaison with architects, engineers, contractors, and inspectors.
- Ensure compliance with Illinois bidding requirements and prevailing wage laws.
- Prepare facilities reports and updates for the Board of Education.
Budget & Financial Oversight
- Assist in managing facilities and maintenance budgets.
- Monitor expenditures and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
- Coordinate procurement of supplies, materials, and contracted services.
- Support annual budget development and long-range planning.
Safety, Security & Emergency Preparedness
- Coordinate district safety protocols related to facilities.
- Serve as point of contact for facilities-related emergency response.
- Assist with emergency preparedness planning.
- Ensure playground inspections and athletic field safety compliance.
- Coordinate insurance claims related to facilities.
- Oversee district-wide alarm monitoring procedures and response protocols.
District Master Schedule & Facility Use Coordination
- Collaborate with administration to align facilities operations with the district master schedule.
- Coordinate building usage, custodial coverage, and maintenance planning to support academic scheduling.
- Oversee community and outside organization use of school facilities.
- Ensure efficient space utilization across district buildings.
Staff Leadership
- Supervise and evaluate facilities staff.
- Coordinate training and professional development.
- Promote safe work practices and high-performance standards.
- Support collective bargaining processes, if applicable.
Salary/Benefits
SALARY:
Exempt- Salary range of $90,000 - $105,000 based on experience and education
260 day annual contract
