Duties
Mahomet-Seymour High School is seeking a Spanish Teacher to join our instructional team for grades 8-12. The successful candidate will create an engaging learning environment that promotes language acquisition, cultural awareness, and the development of communication skills while supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of all students. This is a full-time position that will begin with the 2026-2027 school year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver standards-based Spanish language instruction aligned to district curriculum and state learning standards.
- Develop and implement engaging lessons that promote listening, speaking, reading, and writing proficiency.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Establish a positive classroom environment that supports student engagement and respectful communication.
- Integrate cultural studies to enhance students' understanding of Spanish-speaking countries and communities.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support instructional improvement and school initiatives.
