Junior High Science Teacher

Duties

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and continuously improve the science curriculum.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behaviors.
  • Implement the Amplify curriculum while also piloting new curriculums.
  • Use a variety of instructional techniques to meet diverse learning styles.
  • Maintain a productive, inclusive, and organized environment where students feel safe to take educational risks. 
  • Lead hands-on laboratory experiments, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in science education or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of science concepts and the NGSS standards.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
  • Passion for science education and a commitment to fostering a love of science in students.
  • A genuine passion for scientific inquiry that is contagious to young learners.
  • The ability to navigate the social-emotional landscape of middle school with empathy and humor.

We are looking for an energetic, curious, and dedicated Junior High Science Teacher to join our faculty. Junior High is a pivotal time for students. Your goal will be to bridge the gap between basic elementary observations and the rigorous analytical thinking required for high school, all while keeping a classroom of 7th and 8th grade students engaged and inspired.
