Duties

  • PLANNING AND PREPARATION
    • Display solid knowledge of content and pedagogy.

    • Design student assessments.
  • CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT

    • Manage classroom procedures.
    • Manage student behavior.
    • Organize physical space.
  • INSTRUCTION
    • Communicate with students.
    • Employ questioning and discussion techniques.
    • Engage students in learning.
    • Use assessment in instruction.
    • Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness.
  • PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Reflect on teaching.
    • Maintain accurate records.
    • Communicate with families.
    • Participate in a professional community.
    • Grow and develop professionally.
    • Display professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsement(s) for teaching area.
  • Superior work habits and ethics.
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well with administration, faculty, students and parents.
  • Ability to perform duties as outlined.

Salary/Benefits

Salary and work year established by Collective Bargaining Agreement. Board paid TRS, THIS, and a $10,000 life insurance policy.
