Speech Language Pathologist

Duties

Job Responsibilities:

  • Report to Director of Student Services and building Principal.
  • Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary special education team.
  • Provide therapeutic services to speech-language impaired students and itinerant services to private school students with an Individual Service Plan (ISP).
  • Complete screenings and thorough assessments of language, articulation, voice and fluency disorders, and write reports to accompany evaluations.
  • Consult and collaborate with parents, administrators, teachers, and other service providers to monitor student progress and develop appropriate programs and interventions for students with speech-language needs.
  • Follow special education procedures, which include but is not limited to, participating in team and IEP meetings, writing and implementing IEP's, monitoring progress, and goal reporting.
  • Collaboratively plan and participate in a school improvement program.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License required
  • Speech-Language Impaired endorsement required
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA
  • Experience with autism preferred
  • Ability to provide therapy and diagnostics for students with language disabilities, articulation deficits, dysfluency, and voice disorders
