Director of Activities and Community Education

Duties

Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to join our team as the Director of
Activities and Community Education. In this pivotal role, you will lead and manage all
aspects of student extracurricular programs and community education initiatives. This
includes coordinating sports, clubs, after-school programs, and adult education
offerings, ensuring they align with the district's goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development and Oversight: Design, implement, and evaluate extracurricular
programs, adult education opportunities, and community engagement activities.

Collaboration: Work closely with school administrators, athletic directors, teachers,
community organizations, and parents to promote and support program participation
and educational initiatives.

Budget Management: Prepare and manage budgets for community education programs
and school activities, ensuring proper allocation and effective use of resources.

Staff Supervision: Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff, including athletic
directors, coaches, instructors, and sponsors, ensuring they are equipped to facilitate
effective learning and engagement.

Community Outreach: Develop partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and
government agencies to enhance community involvement and support for educational
programs.
Event Coordination: Schedule school district facilities for public use such as workshops,
sports tournaments, practices, and educational conferences.

Policy Implementation: Ensure all programs comply with district policies, state
regulations, and best practices in educational programming and community
engagement.
Assessment and Reporting: Monitor program effectiveness through assessment and
evaluation; report findings and provide recommendations for improvement.
Professional Development: Stay informed about new trends and best practices in
education and community programming; provide training and development opportunities
for staff.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree
preferred).Evaluator Certified or able to obtain certification.
Experience: Previous experience in activity program management, community
education, or related area within an educational setting.
Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; ability to work
collaboratively with diverse groups; proficiency in budget management and program
evaluation.

Additional Notes

Working Conditions:
This position may require evening and weekend hours for events and meetings.
Travel within the school district and to community organizations may be required.
Travel to out-of-town games, events and meetings.
