Duties
The Physical Education and Health Teacher will:
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate K-5 PE instruction aligned to Illinois Learning Standards
- Teach comprehensive health education at the middle school level (grades 6–8), including topics such as:
- Nutrition and wellness
- Personal safety
- Mental and emotional health
- Decision-making and healthy relationships
- Substance abuse prevention
- Actively participate in and model physical activities, skills, and fitness routines with students
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs and abilities
- Promote teamwork, respect, and positive character development
- Maintain safe use of equipment and facilities
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
- Participate in school events, wellness initiatives, and extracurricular activities as appropriate

Our award-winning, close-knit rural school district seeks an energetic, student-centered Physical Education and Health Teacher to serve elementary students in grades K–5 (Physical Education) and middle school students in grades 6–8 (Physical Education and Health).
The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting lifelong health, fitness, and well-being while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive social-emotional skills. This teacher should be actively engaged in instruction—participating in and modeling activities alongside students—to build enthusiasm, trust, and a strong classroom culture.
