Duties
The Superintendent shall be responsible for the effective operation of the District; for the general administration of all instructional, business or other operations of the District; and for advising and making recommendations to the Board of Education with respect to such activities. He/she shall perform all the duties and accept all the responsibilities usually required of a Superintendent as prescribed by the Illinois State Board of Education.
Qualifications
Candidates will be evaluated on their professional merits and successful experience that demonstrates close alignment with district needs.
The successful candidate will:
- act with integrity, fairness, and in an ethical manner
- advocate, nurture and sustain a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth
- ensure the management of the organization, operation and resources for a safe, efficient and effective learning environment
- collaborate with faculty and community members, respond to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilize community resources.
- have proven abilities in human relations and communications
- have the ability to maximize financial and human resources in support of educational programs in the district
- have experience in planning both long and short range goals
- promote the success of every student by facilitating the development, articulation, implementation and stewardship of a vision of learning that is shared by all stakeholders
- have the ability to successfully apply the legal requirements involved in the administration and management of a public school district including labor relations and the management of the negotiated contract
- hold an ISBE Professional Educator License with Superintendent Endorsement is required.
Salary/Benefits
A competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including board paid TRS, will be negotiated with the final candidate. The base pay range for this position is $150,000 - $180,000.
