MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS’ BASKETBALL COACH
Job Description:
The middle school girls’ basketball coach is responsible for training and mentoring basketball players to develop their skills in a safe, positive environment.
Reports to the Principal
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of previous successful basketball coaching experience at the middle grades level
- Successful experience building rapport with students ages 10-14
- Motivational, creative, confidence-instilling manager of student behavior
- Knowledgeable on the topics of basketball safety, skills development, and professional game behavior.
Duties:
- Design plays, practices, and skills development.
- Enable basketball players to implement plays and confidently use skills on the basketball court during practice and games.
- Teach proper techniques and safety guidelines.
- Supervise all team activities, games, practices, and travel to away games.
- Teach basketball skills.
- Foster teamwork, discipline, confidence, and good sportsmanship.
- Schedule practices, events, manage equipment, and coordinate with other staff and administration.
Salary/Benefits
Pay and hours based on LTA/LSSA contract, game times, and competition schedule.
