Occupational Therapist

Duties

The Occupational Therapist assesses students' functional and developmental needs and provides occupational therapy services that support students' ability to participate meaningfully in their educational environment. The position includes evaluation, planning, and implementation of individualized therapy interventions, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and consultation with staff and families to promote student access, independence, and success.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
  • Current licensure by the State of Illinois (IDFPR)
  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification preferred
  • Knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy practices, including sensory integration, self-care training, adaptive equipment, and therapeutic exercises
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
  • Ability to communicate evaluation results and recommendations clearly to staff and families in verbal and written form.
  • Ability to work independently, manage schedules, and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Preferred, not required: Bilingual endorsement/approval or fluency in a second language, in addition to English

  • Salary: Commensurate with experience ($63,457 - $73,321)
