Speech Language Pathologist
Duties
- Identifies and evaluates students identified through the referral process for Speech/Language concerns.
- Participates in the determination of eligibility for special education and related services in the area of speech language impairment (Eligibility Review).
- Participates in teacher and parent conferences including ER’s, IEPs.
- Develops and implements IEP's for all students for special education and related services in the area of speech/language.
- Consults with parents, teachers, students, administrators, and other professionals.
- Recommends adaptations of classroom instruction in the area of language development, as necessary.
- Completes required documentation and reports.
- Participation on RTI teams as appropriate.
- Facilitates curriculum and instructional modifications.
- Participates in continuing professional education.
- Completes other duties as assigned by administration pertaining to the aforementioned position.
Qualifications
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate Speech Language Pathologist Endorsement or as set by Illinois State Board of Education licensure authorities.
- Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
