School Social Worker @ District (Location TBD)

Duties

  1. Adheres to the Board of Education policies and procedures.
  2. Strives to implement by the performance of job responsibilities, the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
  3. Reports suspected child abuse/neglect cases as required by statute and district policy.
  4. Works cooperatively with other school personnel in the identification, diagnosis, referral and remediation of individual students with specialized needs. participates, as necessary, as a member of building problem-solving teams in the Response to Intervention process.
  5. Attends staff meetings and professional development as reasonably required.
  6. Helps to organize and/or participates in professional development for staff and administration.
  7. Meets, as required and within reason, with staff, students, parents, and/or consultants.
  8. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, or building procedures.
  9. Prepares reports as required by the school or the district.
  10. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  11. Provides individual evaluations to identify social and emotional problems of students as a part of special education evaluations. Successfully integrates the Illinois Social-Emotional Learning Standards in Addressing student plans.
  12. Participates on IEP teams for the process of student evaluation, initial placement, annual reviews and reevaluations as required by regulations.
  13. Provides appropriate counseling services for students and families as determined by the IEP team and specified on the Individual Education Program.
  14. Serves as liaison between students and their families with community mental health and social service agencies.
  15. Provides consultation and assistance to the professional staff in the area of student behavior as part of the IEP and RTL problem-solving process.
  16. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must hold an Illinois Professional Educator License with a Social Worker Endorsement.

2026-2027 SY:

Salary: Placed as appropriate on the Teachers' Salary Schedule (base- $48,324.)
