Qualifications

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educators License endorsed in School Service Personnel; Social Work
  • Master's Degree required. Successful completion of school social work internship.

  • Strong computer and program application skills (Mac Environment, Google Apps) and operating knowledge of typical office equipment; e.g. telephone, copier, fax machine, e-mail, etc.
  • Ability to learn the student information system.
  • Ability to analyze data to inform work and decision making, analyze and evaluate available data, assess and assist with student identification, develop behavior plans, and implement procedures and policies to support student achievement.
  • Conducts initial interview & assessments for new program students; supports the social emotional needs of students.
  • Collects and reviews available previous academic records of the participant and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Provides input to students to other program staff members.
  • Provides specialized counseling and social work services according to student's IEP, school policies and state regulations
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student interventions, counseling sessions, and progress toward goals.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee, student, school board, and other sensitive district information
  • Ability to attend work regularly and punctually and complete duties in a timely manner with attention to detail
  • Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, and building and department procedures
