Qualifications

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with School Psychologist Endorsement 
  • Master's Degree required. Successful completion of school Psychologist Internship.

  • Strong computer and program application skills (Mac Environment, Google Apps) and operating knowledge of typical office equipment; e.g. telephone, copier, fax machine, e-mail, etc.
  • Demonstrated skills in collecting student data by conducting observations, screening, and evaluation to document current levels of performance
  • Experience in evaluation processes to determine the extent of student progress, continued eligibility, and special education needs (including functional behavior assessments, behavior intervention plans, etc.)
  • Ability to lead and facilitate problem solving and intervention teams to assist in early intervention for learning and behavior problems
  • Knowledgeable in effective academic, social and behavioral interventions and strategies to support student success 
  • Commitment to Equity: Passionate about closing the achievement gap and ensuring that every child, regardless of background or circumstance, receives an excellent education.
  • Proficient in completing required documentation and data collection necessary for IEP reports and paperwork; lead domains, eligibility, and IEP meetings
  • Ability to provide behavior consultation to staff and parents 
  • An interest in working with people and a desire to develop positive relationships with colleagues, students, families, community members, and the administrative team.
  • Work collaboratively with the school social worker to counsel students individually or in groups to enhance social/emotional growth and facilitate peer relationships
  • Actively contribute to maintaining a positive, inclusive, and safe school environment.
  • Treats others with respect, works with integrity and ethics, and demonstrates teamwork skills
  • Skilled in development and implementation of professional development activities as needed
  • A demonstrable interest in continuous improvement in the work environment, strong initiative, clear ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, and perform multiple concurrent tasks and is driven by a desire to produce quantifiable student achievement gains.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Responsible, honest, tactful, able to maintain confidentiality, and be of good character.
