Assistant Director of Specialized Services Share: Print: Duties Assist in the coordination and oversight of district-wide special education programs and pupil personnel services Support student placements in district, therapeutic, nonpublic, and off-site programs Coordinate special education transportation in collaboration with district transportation services Assist with oversight of psychological services, mental health services, nursing services, and related service providers Support administration of IEP development, implementation, and compliance under IDEA Attend and support IEP meetings, eligibility conferences, and transition meetings Serve as a liaison to building administrators regarding student services programming, compliance concerns, and parent communication Assist with special education legal compliance, due process, mediation preparation, and documentation Assist in preparing and submitting all ISBE reports related to program compliance, reimbursements, and state approvals Support oversight of Medicaid claiming (IL MAC / PCGUS) and Random Moment Time Study Assist in supervising and evaluating special education staff as assigned Support recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of special education personnel Assist with oversight of MTSS, 504 processes, and McKinney-Vento services as assigned Coordinate early childhood special education and IDEA preschool services Assist with district assessments and accommodations including WIDA, NWEA, and ACCESS testing Maintain compliance with ESSA, IDEA, ISBE regulations, and district policies Participate in professional development and training to remain current with educational trends Perform special projects and duties as assigned by the Director of Specialized Services or Superintendent Qualifications Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or related field required Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Educational Leadership preferred Licenses Required: Professional Educator License (PEL) Special Education Teaching Endorsement (LBS1 or related endorsement) General Administrative Certificate (Type 75 or equivalent preferred) Director of Special Education Director (endorsement required) Experience Required: Minimum of three (3) years of special education teaching experience Minimum of three (3) years of administrative or leadership experience in special education or student services preferred Salary/Benefits Annual Salary: $130,000 10 days of sick leave annually 2 days of personal leave annually 12 days of vacation annually How to Apply Complete an application through Applitrack at sd149.org.
