Duties

Position Summary:

  • The Interim Superintendent is to work with the Principal to manage the school district and mentor the Principal to transfer confidently into a Dual Superintendent, Principal role within the contract time line.  To not work collaboratively with the Principal in District Management, could result in early contract termination.  The Interim Superintendent is the district's Executive Officer and is responsible for the administration and management of the schools in accordance with Board of Education policies and directives and State and Federal law.
  • Communication-Collaboratively with the Principal: Work to attend regular meetings outside of the school district to keep abreast of developments that may impact the district. -Working with the Principal to jointly serve as liaison and spokesperson to the community and promote the district’s accomplishments. - Ensure district employees are kept informed as needed in regards to Board, Community, and Administrative activities and decisions.
  • District Operations: Collaboratively with the Principal: Supervise and communicate all facets of the school district finance, operations, and budgeting -Make administrative decisions necessary to ensure the proper operation of the district -Direct the preparation of the annual budget in accordance with school code -Manage/Oversee ongoing capital projects -Participate in the annual staffing review process working with the Principal to update processes and procedures as needed
  •  Physical Demands: This position requires the employee to frequently stand, walk, sit, see, talk and hear. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds on occasion and up to 10 pounds regularly. Specific vision ability required includes close vision, such as to read type or handwritten material. Frequent computer work required. Work Environment The work environment is varied and includes office and school locations, often on the same day. The work is generally indoors. The noise level in the work environment is that of a general office but can be louder at school events. The employee is continuously interacting with parents/guardians, community members.

 

Qualifications

Standard Qualifications and Certifications required for a Superintendent position.  Experience in mentoring and working closely with Administration a plus and over 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent preferred.  This position has been created to mentor and help guide the Leadership selected by the Community for the District's current school year and the future years to come.  

Salary/Benefits

Compensation Will be negotiated based on credentials and experience.

Additional Notes

The Interim Superintendent will not be eligible to apply for the permanent Superintendent position for the 2026-2027 or 2027-2028 school year.
