Champaign Unit 4 Schools Special Education Administrator

Duties

  • Assists with oversight of Special Education services of the District and ensures they are administered in accordance with all Federal and State mandates and established Board Policies.
  • Coordinates and monitors services and reporting for the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the 1973 Rehabilitation Act.
  • Assists with coordinating and supervising the District’s Extended School Year (ESY) services.

Qualifications

  • Illinois Administrative Licensure with endorsement as a Special Education Teacher or related service provider.
  • Illinois Administrative Licensure with endorsement as Director of Special Education (preferred).
  • Previous, successful experience as a teacher and/or building administrator.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Salary/Benefits

The entry level base salary for this position is $98,200, plus highly competitive benefits, including 100% Board-paid TRS contributions and 100% Board-paid employee-only health, dental, and term life insurance.  There is a minimal employee cost for vision insurance.  Additional compensation above the base is offered to candidates based on their number of years of successful teaching and administrative experience.
