Duties
Putnam County CUSD #535 is excited to launch a new Self-Contained Special Education Pathways Program for students in Grades K–2 at Putnam County Primary School. We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and innovative educator who wants the opportunity to help build a high-quality program from the ground up and make a lasting difference in the lives of students and families.
The Pathways Program is designed to meet the diverse and individual needs of students who benefit from a highly specialized, supportive learning environment. The program provides individualized opportunities for growth across communication, social-emotional development, adaptive and functional life skills and academics.
Through carefully selected curriculum options, individualized instruction, and a focus on each student’s unique strengths and needs, the Pathways Program promotes meaningful personal growth, increased independence, and greater success both in school and in the community.
Programming will be driven by each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) and designed around individual strengths, needs, and developmental levels. Our goal is to empower every student with the skills, confidence, and support they need to reach their fullest potential.
Because this is a new program, the successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to help shape its culture, routines, instructional practices, classroom environment, and long-term vision. We are looking for someone who sees possibilities in every student, values teamwork, embraces creative problem-solving, and wants to help establish a program that can grow with our students for years to come.
Job coaching will be made available to help the successful candidate transition into the position and succeed in their role.
