Special Education Evaluation Specialist

Duties

Responsibilities:

  • Administer assessments.
  • Participate in IEP conferences, team meetings and problem-solving meetings.
  • Monitor completion of case study evaluations.
  • Provide insight into the development of functional assessments and behavior intervention plans.
  • Provide assistance to staff in the design and implementation of appropriate interventions and accommodations for students.
  • Evaluate and/or translate research into practice.
  • Contribute to program development that furthers the integration of social, coping and problem solving in the classroom.
  • Coordinate and/or collaborate with a range of individuals/agencies to promote and provide comprehensive services to students and families.
  • Provide and assist in professional development for staff, parents and community.
  • Participate in professional growth activities on a yearly basis including recertification for CPI, workshops, in-service, professional reading materials and other available trainings.
  • Complete recertification for professional licensures.
  • Plan and organize time effectively and efficiently.
  • Utilize technology to communicate proficiently, compile reports and collect data.
  • Participate in building or program activities and meetings as appropriate.
  • Maintain contact with physicians and community mental health service providers.
  • Maintain records and submit them in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Qualifications:          

  • A Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a Master’s Degree in the field of Special Education or be in the process of completion.
  • Knowledge of school-based learning processes and appropriate instructional interventions.
  • Knowledge of collaborative and consolation models and methods and their applications.
