Special Education Evaluation Specialist
Duties
Responsibilities:
- Administer assessments.
- Participate in IEP conferences, team meetings and problem-solving meetings.
- Monitor completion of case study evaluations.
- Provide insight into the development of functional assessments and behavior intervention plans.
- Provide assistance to staff in the design and implementation of appropriate interventions and accommodations for students.
- Evaluate and/or translate research into practice.
- Contribute to program development that furthers the integration of social, coping and problem solving in the classroom.
- Coordinate and/or collaborate with a range of individuals/agencies to promote and provide comprehensive services to students and families.
- Provide and assist in professional development for staff, parents and community.
- Participate in professional growth activities on a yearly basis including recertification for CPI, workshops, in-service, professional reading materials and other available trainings.
- Complete recertification for professional licensures.
- Plan and organize time effectively and efficiently.
- Utilize technology to communicate proficiently, compile reports and collect data.
- Participate in building or program activities and meetings as appropriate.
- Maintain contact with physicians and community mental health service providers.
- Maintain records and submit them in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- A Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a Master’s Degree in the field of Special Education or be in the process of completion.
- Knowledge of school-based learning processes and appropriate instructional interventions.
- Knowledge of collaborative and consolation models and methods and their applications.
