Duties

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary responsibilities will be supervision of hallways, cafeteria, gymnasium, bathrooms, locker rooms, parking lots and all other areas as assigned.
  • The Jr/Sr High Campus Safety Monitor is to report to the Principal and is responsible to that person for the proper interpretation and performance of the duties of that position.

 
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acts as supervisor of students in a variety of settings
  • Serves as a monitor of student behavior, and movement
  • Assists in holding students, staff, and visitors accountable for school policy
  • Communicates with appropriate staff on attendance, truancy, tardiness and behavioral issues or concerns
  • Refers chemical and other concerns to administrators in a timely fashion
  • Assists and cooperates with other supervisors
  • Maintains policies on attendance, food, drink, behavior, passes and study environment.
  • Maintains accurate records as required
  • Checks student bathrooms, locker rooms and other areas.
  • Assists in the search of lockers and vehicles when requested and supervised by an Administrator
  • Operates radio communication system
  • Ability to communicate with students and school personnel
  • Ability to understand basic math as used in record keeping
  • Implements enforceable hall rules with students and staff.
  • Ability to reason with students and staff
  • Ability to anticipate problems and disruptive situations and be able to diffuse the problem.
  • Ability to move fast on one’s feet, to cover those areas that need help. Position may require physically separating and/or restraining students. 
  • Other duties assigned or apparent.

 
WORK ENVIORNMENT
Primarily indoor supervision with occasional outside work. Responds appropriately in emergency situations. Enforces policies in a fair and consistent manner. 
 

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent
Skill in dealing with children and youths with behavioral and/or emotional problems
Experience in overseeing the activities of teenagers is desirable.
Good judgment, mental alertness, good powers of observation, tact and courtesy
Physical condition commensurate with the duties of the position.
