Duties

• Supervise the Behavior Intervention Room and maintain a room that is conducive to learning
• Maintains communication and positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents
• Work with Student Services staff to develop restorative justice practices and reflection activities to modify and improve behavior
• Collaborate with the Deans to implement behavior interventions and behavior plans to assist students in achieving academic goals.
• Assist students with coursework and assignments, including prioritizing essential learning
• Communicate with staff members to secure student assignments and staff member recommendations on how the student can best utilize their time in the room
• Conduct activities to improve student-staff or student-student relationships
• Assist the Deans with re-engagement activities for students returning from external suspension

Qualifications

• State of Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS 1 or related endorsement
• Computer literacy and competency in use of Apple technology
• Interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work successfully with staff and students
• Possess effective oral and written communication skills
• Believes in a growth-mindset and that all students can learn
• Be patient, resilient, tolerant and have a genuine understanding of difficulties students may encounter.
• Detail-oriented and committed to completing work on time and correctly

Salary/Benefits

Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the daily rate is $310 per day, with benefits available. Information
