Duties

  1. Provide educational services to students who are visually impaired ages 3 to 21
  2. Complete functional vision assessments and written reports
  3. Participate in IEP meetings and assist the team in determining education needs related to vision
  4. Recommend specialized materials, equipment, and technology to meet the students’ educational needs
  5. Provide training on materials, equipment, and technology to students and staff, as needed
  6. Communicate and plan with ESY teachers about the modification of instructions to meet the students’ educational needs
  7. Adapt materials for students who are visually impaired
  8. Participate in ESY meetings with ESY teachers
  9. Communicate with ESY Coordinators
  10. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  1. Valid Illinois Professional Educator’s License with Blind, Visually Impaired endorsement
  2. Must be CPI certified or willingness to complete training
