Duties
The Technology Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of technology systems and infrastructure within the district. This includes, but is not limited to, overseeing the use of technology across all grade levels, managing software and hardware, supporting online testing platforms, coordinating with vendors, and managing social media accounts. The role also requires knowledge of grant writing and securing funding for educational technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will ensure that technology is integrated effectively into the curriculum, improve the district’s technological capabilities, and maintain clear documentation and reporting practices.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Educational Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in educational technology or a related field (preferred in a school setting).
- Experience in managing technology systems, hardware, and software in an educational environment.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong technical knowledge of hardware, software, and online platforms used in education.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and their use in educational communication.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with adherence to deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate with staff, administrators, and vendors effectively.
- Knowledge of budgeting, purchasing, and grant management.
- Ability to supervise and delegate responsibilities to the technology assistant, high school students under your supervision and summer staff.
Certifications (Preferred):
- Certifications in technology-related fields (e.g., Google Certified Educator)
- Experience with educational software systems and learning management platforms.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment and technology materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
