Duties

SEAPCO wishes to employ a paid School Psychologist Intern for the 2025-2026 school term.  The Intern will be classified as a Resident-School Psychologist while completing requirements for the Illinois State Board of Education PEL (Professional Educator Licensure) with the Endorsement/Approval SPSY (School Psychologist)

The Resident Psychologist will work with a professional school psychologist team within the SEAPCO organization.  The Resident will be provided hands-on training in all Psychological services necessary for the development of the student’s IEP/IFSP or documented in the student’s IEP/IFSP are diagnostic or active treatments with the intent to improve the student’s physical or mental condition reasonably and are provided to the student whose condition or functioning can be expected to improve with interventions.

These services include, but are not limited to:

  • Testing and evaluation that appraise cognitive, emotional and social functioning and self-concept.
  • Interviews and behavioral evaluations including interpretations of information about the student’s behavior and conditions relating to functioning.
  • Therapy, including providing a program of psychological services for the student with diagnosed psychological problems.
  • Unscheduled activities to resolve an immediate crisis.

Qualifications

Students who are completing their final year of an approved college program leading to Illinois licensure in school psychology.

Salary/Benefits

The salary for this position is set by the SEAPCO Board of Control and is currently $30,000.00 for 190 days of employment.
