K-3 Special Education Teacher Maternity Leave

Duties

Henry-Senachwine Grade & Jr. High School is seeking an energetic, flexible, and highly motivated special education teacher to cover a maternity leave in grades K-3. The desired applicant will meet the academic, behavioral, social and emotional needs of students in grades K-3 and be an integral member of the problem solving team. The successful teacher candidate must demonstrate collaboration and leadership skills, implement innovative approaches to problem solving, create a special education program conducive to learning and personal growth of children, assess individual learner needs, identify measurable goals, monitor learner progress, and build strong ties between home and school. 

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education Teacher Endorsement (LBS1).
  • Must have a background check and be finger printed.
  • Must be an ethical person with high moral values and integrity.
  • Must be organized and flexible.
  • Experience in writing and implementing an IEP.
  • An understanding of the MTSS process and experience providing research-based interventions.
  • The ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues.
