Duties

  • Working with local news agencies to publicize District 33C press releases, program information, events and accomplishments;
  • Working with administration and staff to develop and publicize news stories;
  • Assess and regularly publish open positions for the district;
  • Assisting with crisis communications;
  • Advising the District on public relations matters;
  • Reporting on board meetings to local news agencies and the public (as directed)
  • Updating the District Facebook page or other District social media outlets;
  • Writing, posting, and maintaining current event content for the District’s web page and District web page and District publications;
  • Reviewing District documents intended for public or media release.

Qualifications

The position of the Public Relations Coordinator serves as an information liaison between Homer CCSD 33C and the community by way of generating and disseminating the appropriate news on events, meetings, programs, and goals related to Homer CCSD 33C’s mission.

Salary/Benefits

Compensation: The Public Relations Coordinator shall be paid $30.00 per hour for each hour of work on behalf of the Payments shall be made bi-monthly following receipt and verification of an invoice for services rendered. The Public Relations Coordinator shall be solely responsible for any and all local, state and federal income taxes on payments received hereunder.

Benefits: The Public Relations Coordinator is not eligible for benefits

Homer Glen, IL 60491 AGREEMENT FOR SERVICES

AGREEMENT dated                                       between the Board of Education of Homer Community Consolidated School District 33C (“Homer CCSD 33C”) and

                                             , [Public Relations Coordinator], both of which are referred to as the “parties.”

The parties hereto agree as follows:

  1. School year services to be rendered: 2025-2026
  2. Type of employment: Independent
  3. Position assigned: Public Relations
  4. Hours of Work: The District anticipates that the Public Relations Coordinator will be utilized for 10-15 hours per work week (flexibly) during the term of this The District’s regular school calendar and schedule will apply, including any observed holidays and school breaks (e.g., winter break, spring break).
  5. Compensation: The Public Relations Coordinator shall be paid $30.00 per hour for each hour of work on behalf of the Payments shall be made

Right to Terminate: The District may terminate this Agreement at any time upon written notice to the Public Relations Coordinator, with or without cause, when, in the District’s sole discretion, such termination is in the best interests of the The Public Relations Coordinator may terminate services in and for the District at any time upon written notice to the District.
  2. District Policies and Law: When providing services under this Agreement, the Public Relations Coordinator will act in accordance with District policies and applicable law.
  3. Complete Agreement: This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties on the subject matter hereof and supersedes any and all previous agreements or understandings of the parties, and shall be binding upon the parties hereto and their respective successors and This Agreement shall not be changed or modified orally, but shall be changed or modified only by a written agreement signed by the parties hereto.
