Duties

  • Provide technical assistance and supervision to Special Education Programs and Special Education Staff
  • Serve as a liaison between the cooperative and the member districts as well as outside agencies, private facilities
  • Provide consultation to related service providers for the cooperative
  • Maintain ongoing supervision of related service staff
  • Assist the cooperative with the employment of new staff
  • Evaluation of staff
  • Provide direct consultation with member districts
  • Find and coordinate private placements
  • Create, coordinate and supervise supplemental afterschool and summer programming
  • Assist with scheduling of IEP meetings including initial evaluations, re-evaluations, annual reviews
  • Monitor IEPs for legality and accuracy
  • Assist with Medicaid practices and procedures
  • Participate in new staff training
  • Prepare and submit reports to the Director as requested
  • Maintain an awareness of in-service and professional development programs to help in the promotion of personnel professional development
  • Provide meetings as needed with related service
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Master's in Special Education or other related field
  • Valid IL Professional Educator License required
  • Type 75 Administrative Certification preferred
  • Staff Evaluation Certificate
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to work cooperatively with others
