Duties

Position Title:  Mid-Level District Technician  

Report To:  Director of Technology and Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instructional Technology

Benefits:

Starting Wage  $19.50
Total Work Days  260 (Including Paid Holidays)
Hours   8 Hours Per Day

Summary:  

  • Support the use of a broad range of technology services in the District by working with all staff and students.

Qualifications: 

  • Have earned an Associate's degree or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate technological skills including, but is not limited to, being proficient in Microsoft Office, Google, hardware repairs and software management.
  • Working knowledge of computer equipment, basic network configurations and ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
  • Provides technical support and training to end users in ‘laypersons' terms at their technical level and often on their schedule.
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills, ability to manage projects, and be self-motivated.
  • Ability to find answers to technology-related questions quickly.
  • Possess a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills necessary to favorably meet and communicate with our school community.
  • Present evidence of physical exam to determine "fit for duty", evidence of being free from communicable disease (TB), and submit to criminal background check.
  • Experience with Apple technologies (iPhone, Mac, iPad) preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear.
  • Attend to a computer screen for a sustained period of time.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, climb ladders.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
  • Drive your own vehicle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technology support and technology hardware repair for all schools.
  • Successfully troubleshoot, problem solve, and resolve technology department tickets, or escalate unresolved tickets.
  • Work in a team-based environment with the ability to function with independent discretion.
  • Display a calm and supportive demeanor when encountering technology issues and resolving issues for staff and students.
  • Provide system support for staff and students, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, resolving, and documenting.
  • Resolves tickets representing staff, student and parent-generated technical requests or problems and troubleshoots technical and process issues to maintain productivity.
  • Assist in maintaining a current and well-functioning fleet of technology hardware equipment (computing devices, phones, printer/copiers, interactive boards, projectors, etc).
  • Installs, modifies, and makes minor repairs to computer hardware and software systems
  • Maintains system functionality by testing computer components.
  • Maintain a comprehensive and accurate technology inventory.
  • Assist in educating staff and students about technology, in accordance with district technology policy and initiatives.
  • Assist in the maintenance and support of district technology software and network services.
  • Maintain the database of network account users and program/service permissions for staff and students in accordance with district technology access and permissions policies.
  • Assist staff and students with program access troubleshooting.
  • Keeps up to date on technical advancements by reviewing professional publications, and gaining technical certifications.
  • Assist with district-level technology projects and initiatives.
  • Comply with district board policy, technology department policies, and District confidentiality requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology.
