Duties

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  1. Facilitates learning and the development of skills in a variety of subjects; including reading, language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, art, physical education, health, music, technology and or exploratory classes.
  2. Implement the general education curriculum in a small group setting individualizing based upon student need.
  3. Provide intense individualized instructional support that focuses on academics, positive behaviors, sensory needs, social skills and communications.
  4. Provide instruction in a highly structured learning environment.
  5. Utilize teaching techniques from Applied Behavioral Analysis, structured teaching, PBIS and small group direct instruction. 
  6. Using a multi-disciplinary team of services providers, develop and implement behavior intervention programs.
  7. Facilitates learning of specific courses of study and the development of good civic participation as mandated by state law and by policies of the school district.
  8. Develops and implements lesson plans, utilizing instructional materials including the integration of technology, to provide differentiated learning experiences to meet the needs of each student.
  9. Collaborates and co-teaches with team members to develop and implement differentiated lessons plans for all students’ success.
  10. Establishes and maintains positive student behavior within the classroom and school Environment.
  11. Evaluates and monitors student academic and social growth, and keeps appropriate records using formal and informal data collection, methods, or tools.
  12.  Identifies student needs and collaborate with team members to assess and remediate student learning and establish or implement behavior plans.
  13. Creates an engaging classroom environment for learning.
  14. Communicates classroom information and student progress with guardians through web pages, conferences and digital resources.
  15.  Commit to personal professional growth through activities provided by the district, self-selected activities and those recommended by the supervising principal for competency advancement.
  16. Maintains required inventory records for all classroom materials.
  17. Supervises students during non academic activities within the school day.
  18. Administers individual and group assessments in accordance with the district and State TestingProgram.
  19. Participates in school programs, faculty committees and student activities in accordance with terms of the current contract.
  20.  Maintain appropriate IEP records
  21.  Participate in and facilitate IEP / Goal Setting Meetings
  22. Identify students eligible for Sped Services
  23. Collaborate with colleagues regarding IEP and Goal Setting
  24. Perform other duties and assume responsibilities as may be assigned by the superintendent ordesignee and in accordance with terms stipulated in the current contract.

Salary/Benefits

 In accordance with the Professional Negotiation Agreement with the South Berwyn Education Association.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:     Ten month year. 
 

EVALUATION:     Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of                               Professional Personnel.
