Duties

Trico Community Unit District #176 is seeking a K-12 Coordinator of Technology to
oversee the integration, support, and growth of technology within our district. This role
will ensure that both students and staff have access to the tools, resources, and
professional development necessary to enhance teaching, learning, and district
operations.
The K-12 Coordinator of Technology will work closely with school leaders, educators,
and the board of education to foster an environment that encourages the effective use
of technology across all grade levels.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Educational Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field required. A Master's degree or relevant certification is a plus.

Experience:
 Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in educational technology, IT support,
or a related field, preferably in K-12 settings.
 Experience with technology integration in K-12 classrooms and a strong
understanding of educational software and tools.
 Experience providing professional development and training to educators
and staff.

Skills & Abilities:
Strong understanding of current K-12 educational technologies, including
learning management systems (LMS), interactive devices, and digital
resources.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work
effectively with educators, administrators, and students.
Knowledge of data privacy laws and best practices for securing student
information.
Ability to assess technology needs and create strategic plans to enhance
technology use throughout the district.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot hardware and
software issues.
Ability to provide guidance and direction to the Technology aide.

Work Environment:
 Work is performed in both office and school settings across the district.
 The District culture is positive and student-centered.

 

Physical Requirements:
 Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds of equipment as needed.
 Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and occasionally perform
physical tasks associated with technology setup or maintenance.

Salary/Benefits

Job Type: 12 Month/Full-time/IMRF
Reports To: Superintendent
Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000
Vacation Days: 20
Sick Days: 15
Personal Days: 2
Bereavement Days: 3

Additional Notes

Key Responsibilities:
1. Technology Integration & Support:
o Coordinate the integration of technology tools and resources into
classroom instruction, ensuring they align with curriculum standards and
enhance student learning.
o Provide ongoing support and guidance to teachers and staff on the
effective use of educational technology.
o Monitor and evaluate the district’s current technology infrastructure,
ensuring it meets the needs of all K-12 schools.
o Hands on experience in installing & troubleshooting hardware issues for
laptops, desktops, printers, projectors, and accessories.
o Provide software assistance for staff (Windows, Chrome OS, Google
Workspace Suite)

2. Professional Development & Training:
o Develop, implement, or organizes training programs for teachers,
administrators, and staff to improve the use of technology in instructional
practices.
o Stay informed on current educational technology trends and provide
professional learning opportunities to foster tech integration at all grade
levels.
o Offer individualized or small group training on software, hardware, and
best practices for integrating technology in the classroom.

3. Collaboration with District Leadership:
o Collaborate with school administrators to align technology initiatives with
the district’s overall educational goals.
o Serve as a liaison between the district technology department and school
staff, ensuring effective communication and support for technology needs.
o Provide recommendations to district leadership regarding the acquisition
and use of educational technology tools and resources.
o Maintain an organized and updated inventory list.
o Stay informed and adhere to Illinois State Board of Education updates
related to technology, including assistive technology and state
assessment requirements.

4. Technology Planning & Implementation:
o Assist in the development and implementation of the district’s technology
plan, focusing on enhancing student learning outcomes and improving
operational efficiency.
o Support the selection and rollout of new technology platforms,
applications, and devices for both students and staff.
o Oversee the pilot and implementation of new technologies within
classrooms and ensure successful deployment.

5. Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
o Provide troubleshooting support for technology-related issues in
classrooms and administrative areas.
o Works to resolve technical problems in a timely manner, minimizing
disruptions to the learning process.
o Develop resources and documentation to assist staff in resolving common
technology issues independently.
o Manage security systems including alarms, cameras, electronic doors and
sign in systems.

6. Vendor & Resource Management:
o Assist with the selection and management of educational technology
vendors and service providers.
o Support the district in managing the procurement and budgeting of
technology resources, including hardware, software, and digital tools.
o Maintain an accurate inventory of technology assets, ensuring proper
upkeep and updating of technology equipment.

7. Data Management & Reporting:

o Collect and analyze data on technology usage and effectiveness to inform
future decisions on technology investments and training.
o Report on the progress of technology initiatives, identifying areas for
improvement and opportunities for further development.
o Ensure compliance with privacy and security regulations concerning
student and staff data.
8. Cybersecurity & Digital Safety:
o Support the district in ensuring that all technology systems and tools meet
security standards and safeguard student and staff information.
o Promote responsible digital citizenship and safe online practices for both
students and staff.
o Work with the district’s IT team to implement and enforce cybersecurity
policies across the district.
