Duties
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Create and deliver engaging lessons that align with state standards and meet the unique needs of each student
- Provide direct instruction in various subjects, including literacy, math, science, and social studies
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to ensure the success of each student
- Implement behavior management techniques to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Provide early intervention services to identify and address learning challenges as early as possible
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
- Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development for students with special needs
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to work with students with a wide range of disabilities, including autism, hearing impairments, and intellectual disabilities
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students overcome challenges
Salary/Benefits
Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
