Duties
TITLE: Homebound Tutor (1-4 Students)
Approximately 10-20 hours/week
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education
JOB GOAL: Under limited supervision, provides high-quality, standards-based instruction in a homebound setting for a student qualifying for services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Addresses specific educational needs of an individual student by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment and providing feedback to parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
- Using the Individualized Education Program (IEP) as a guide, selects appropriate instructional materials and media to achieve the goals and objectives specified for the student.
- Strives to maximize the educational achievement of the student.
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media which are appropriate to the achievement of the goals and objectives specified in each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Assesses on an ongoing basis student progress toward the acquisition of goals and objectives listed in the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- Maintains accurate and complete records as required by district policy and administrative regulations.
- Utilizes current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal/assistant principal and district office administrators as designated by the superintendent.
- Adheres to a professional code of ethics which includes confidentiality of school related matters and loyalty to the school district.
