Duties

The primary responsibility of the principal is the improvement of instruction and to spend a majority of his/her time on curriculum improvement and staff development; and in cooperation with appropriate unit personnel, be responsible for the organization, safety, and day-to-day administration, supervision, and evaluation of the school so as to promote the educational development of each student.

Qualifications

• Appropriate Illinois Professional Educators License endorsed in General School Administration
• Master’s Degree in School Administration
• Must possess the teacher evaluator qualifications, modules 1-5
• Demonstrated experience in the area of reading improvement and experience with RtI
• Previous teaching and leadership experience preferred
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
