Duties

Evaluation the functional performance ability of a student impaired by physical illness or injury, emotional disorder, congenital or developmental disability; and the analysis, selection and application of occupations or goal directed activities, for the treatment or prevention of the disabilities to achieve functional outcomes (Job Description from the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation). “School-based therapy is integrated into the school’s educational program as a means to enhance functioning and attain educational objectives” (Recommended Practices for Occupational and Physical Therapy Services in Illinois Schools; ISBE 2003).

Qualifications

1. Completion of an approved Occupational Therapy program, approved by the Department of Professional Regulation at least four years, leading to a baccalaureate degree or its equivalent.
2. Registered as an Occupational Therapist.
3. State of Illinois license as a Registered Occupational Therapist.
4. Individual is physically capable of performing the essential duties of the job.

Salary/Benefits

SALARY IS COMMENSURATE WITH EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE BUT NO LESS THAN $58,000 BASED ON 180 DAYS ANNUALLY.
