Duties
Iroquois West High School is seeking a part-time Physical Education Teacher.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality physical education lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of high school students.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate physical education curriculum aligned with state standards and school objectives.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, equipment, and activities to engage students and promote physical fitness, skill development, and personal wellness.
- Assess student learning and progress through regular observation, evaluation, and feedback, and provide timely and constructive guidance for improvement.
- Collaborate with other faculty members and administrators to support the overall mission and goals of the school, including participating in faculty meetings, professional development activities, and school events.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to provide updates on student progress, share information about curriculum and activities, and address any concerns or questions.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance, and ensure compliance with school policies and procedures.
- Stay current with developments in physical education pedagogy, instructional technology, and best practices, and continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development.
Salary/Benefits
Per Collective Bargaining Agreement.
