Duties

Rutland Grade School is looking for a part-time SLP for our small, rural K-8 elementary school district (steady enrollment of 65-75 students Kdg through 8) for the 2024-25 school year. 

Our SLP currently is in the building twice a week, working a part-time schedule.  A once-a-week full day schedule or twice-a-week half-day could work if needed. 

Salary is negotiable, based on experience and qualifications, and not tied to a teacher salary schedule.

Qualifications

  • Illinois Professional Educators Licensure (PEL) with Speech and Language Pathologist endorsement(s)  

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA (preferred)

  • Experience with providing speech and language services in school settings and programs. Knowledge of assistive and instructional technology is desired. Understanding and experience with a variety of disabilities and student needs is preferred.

Salary/Benefits

Salary is negotiable, based on experience and qualifications.  It is not tied to a teacher salary schedule.

  • Rutland CCSD 230 is a rural K-8 elementary school district with a steady enrollment of 65-75 students K through 8 (average class size of 8 students) just outside of the city limits of Ottawa, IL within the boundaries of Ottawa Twp. High School District 140.  

  • Rutland Grade School is located in beautiful Starved Rock Country, less than 20 miles from LaSalle-Peru, only 28 miles from Oswego, less than 30 miles from Minooka, 40 miles from Joliet, and 40 miles from DeKalb.
