Duties

  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students’ needs in the school environment.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and interventions to address students’ fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school personnel to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom and assist in modifying the environment to support student success.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students as outlined in Individualized Education Plans (IEP) or 504 plans.
  • Educate and train school staff, parents, and caregivers on strategies to support students’ occupational therapy needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports on students’ treatment plans and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • State licensure/certification as an Occupational Therapist
  • Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including IEP and 504 plan development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Passion for support student’ success and advocating for their needs.
